Current FSW Process

But in answer to your question, if you are definitely eligible as a Skilled Worker, then yes, that would be your quickest, easiest route to Permanent Residency.

If you go out to Canada and get a job offer (and fulfil the LMO requirements), then you can apply for FSW Category 2 or PNP but that is all I know about because that is what we looked into due to our circumstances not fitting any other immigration route.
Use the website link I posted and the Wikis christmasoompa directed you to and read carefully and thoroughly.
Only you can narrow it down to what could work for you and then when you have found what route/s you are eligible for, posters on this site can answer more specific questions.
At the moment, no-one can really advise you because there are so many routes and so many variables in applicants' situations which dictate their admissibility.
Good Luck finding a route that you can access.

I don't know if that is the cause of any delay.
We assumed that they were asking for the updated IM0008 because they had changed the form. The information on it hasn't really changed, so that was all we could think of.
It is best to fill in the most up to date version of the forms whenever you are asked for them because they can ask again if it isn't the most recent version.
We sent in our new Police checks and the IM0008 by courier and they were received by the VO on the 3rd September.
Since then we have had no further communication. Medicals should be next for us, but when that will be is anybody's guess.

As you and me share close timeline, I am also waiting for medicals since 5th August 2011. On 18 October 2011 it was a year since our application was first received, thus I sent to London VO an email asking about when medicals will come?, after a while they replied (we recieved your updated documents, and your application is in background check. We cannot advise when that will finish, but it is likely to take some time). My records are clean, and do not know why it is taking all that time? what is your status now???

Plenty of threads around with recent timelines etc if you want to have a search, but you'll first get a PER or NER (positive eligibility review - you can guess what NER stands for!), then nothing until med requests from what I understand. Figure about a year processing time although quite a few people have had it sooner recently.

Even once they have taken the money, it is no guarantee that you have passed the first review.
When the review is completed, they will send you the notification (either positive or negative) by e-mail so keep an eye on your Inbox and Junk folder.
Personally, I think that you have a while longer to wait before you should expect to be hearing anything, but it could be before Christmas.
