Crossing the border into Canada

Hi everyone,
Myself and my Husband are travelling to Canada to visit some friends and as its cheaper to fly to Buffalo and drive through to Hamilton, we were wondering if there would be any problem on us crossing the border.
We are British passport holders and British born.
currently living in Qatar so flying in from here.
What papers will we need if any please.
Many thanks in advance

Valid UK passports
Im assuming you have a return flight booked so a copy of that
Name & address of friend in Hamilton if asked.
Enough money or access to funds to support yourself in Canada if asked.
Thats about it.

I assume you're not doing it with 7 feet of snow around and likely mass floods, tidal waves, ice age etc.

You'll need to apply for ESTAs for you and your husband if you haven't already done so. Most rental car companies also place some kind of restriction or notification requirement on driving into Canada in a US-rented car so check their policy if you are planning on renting a car to make the trip.
