Hi all,

I sent my application in August so just waiting now but something that has been playing on my mind is, on one of the forms, can’t remember which one, it asks has anyone listed in my application being investigated or has ever been in prison etc. I took that to mean the people that are applying for permanent residence, so me and my 2 daughters!!

now I’m worrying that it means anyone who is mentioned in the application like parents, my dad is obviously named on the Additional family members, and he was in prison many years ago, like 40 years ago, so I’m wondering if that’s something that will come back on me and so I need to contact IRCC and let them know this information?

Do they check backgrounds of parents/siblings etc?

any help would be appreciated

Stop worrying, your dad's history is irrelevant to your application.
