No conviction, no foul but remember the question on the application that asks have you ever been arrested or detained?

If having a drink driving offence in the past, how does this affect getting in to Canada?

It depends on how long ago the conviction was, have a look at CIC's website and search for criminal admisability for further info, i've just gone through the process for my boyfriend who had a drink driving offence. PM me if you want any further advice.

It will show arrests, cautions, convictions and sentances.

So even if you weren't convicted, it will be on there if you were arrested.

don,t understand how can you be arrested if you ain,t charged, surely helping with inquires that means you can be arrested for anything, but you have to be charged in order to be guilty.

Lots of people are arrested, but no charge laid, as evidence would not support conviction.
