Default A couple of questions regarding PR and Health Cards

At the port of entry, I provided with an address in Calgary to mail our PR cards. It is my friend’s relative’s address and I do not live there. A page I was given at the port of entry says that they will mail the PR cards to the local post office and verify the address before sending it to the actual address. How do they verify the actual address? Am I am supposed to be living in that address when the PR cards arrive?

We have also applied for Alberta Health Cards that we will not be using for next 7-8 months (as we are not moving there until Jun/Jul 2010). What will happen to our cards? Do they expire at some point? Or we should not have applied for the health cards at all this time? Thanks for your time and help.
