Default Contracts of employment

Are these essential for inclusion in the Skilled Worker application for PR? I only ask because for my current employment, my company f***ed up big time and offered me the job, but it turned out that I was to be employed by the recruitment agency instead. In all the confusion, no contract was issued.

I suppose it's in my own best interests to get a contract signed, but I am being employed on a temporary basis at the moment and you wouldn't believe the battles I've had trying to get something drawn up. Therefore, would it be OK to just submit the letters of reference for this job and no contract of employment? Or is a copy of the contract essential?
