Default Contract of Employment

Just thought I'd re-post this to see if anyone could answer...

A am applying for Permanent Residency under the Skilled Worker Class.

I am unable to obtain a copy of an employment contract from a previous
employer. The company went bankrupt a few years ago. I've manager to contact
the old Personnel Officer who can write a reference letter and describe my
work experience for the company. I also have her business card. This is the
best I can do. It is essential for points that I can count this experience -
what can I do? The requirements for London applications state that you need
a reference letter and a copy of an employment contract - will my
application be immediately rejected if I don't include a copy of my
contract?

I have no problem with the evidence for the majority of my work experience
(3 + years experience as a Software Engineer). Can you claim work experience
under two separate categories? I have experience as a Electronics Technician
(this is the experience I'm having difficulty with) and a Software Engineer.

Thanks.

Take reasonable steps to get what proof you can, and send it with your
application and an explanation.

Take WHAT reasonable steps to get the proof. Have you really answered the question?
