Default Common Law documents

Quick question...

My partner (who is a NZ born Canadian Citizen) is sponsoring my permanent residency application as his common law partner.

Do I need to include all documentation for him in my application as my common law partner if he is sponsoring me?
e.g. does he need to get a police check done in NZ as he lived there for more than 6 months even though he is a Canadian citizen?

Thanks in advance!
