Unless I'm wrong??
Some provinces have PNP programs that allow sponsorship. Or at least they did. I'm sure the wiki has info

there is or was an entrepreneur Visa but you need $500,000 for that. Basicly you give it to the government, they invest it, anything they make they use for medical research etc & after 5 years you get it back (no interest) and you get citizenship. It's a long time since i looked into that for someone and not sure if its still an option.
You could try a refuge claim but thats unlikely unless your in fear of death or torture etc if they make you leave.
I won't be up to speed on the new system until after an online seminar later this month.
A lot of the old options no longer work.

Wow, thats big bucks!! i was just thinking of opening a little tea shop!
Is it worth paying an immigration specialist? they reckon you don't need a job offer to apply under the federal skilled worker application, my NOC code is 1271, is that right??

I have 12 years experience of working as a Data Analyst and Data Administrator for Local Government. I have Advanced Microsoft Package skills and Various other certificates in computers and Health and safety. So in the grand scheme of things nothing that is going to wow over a Canadian getting the job before me.

You can't just set up your own business in Canada and start working. I think that you will still need a visa to work here. I also think they are even harder to come by than a regular FSW visa. We run a business here but had to get FSW Cat1 Visas for permanent residency first. I think R I C H went down the self-employed route and managed it.

I'm just looking at every possible option, even if it does sound mad! people come here from all over the world and street trade, you just turn up at the border and they let you in!

I do feel for you. It's ironic really - you follow all the rules and comply with the laws and conditions of immigration and get nowhere. At the same time, economic migrants will cheerfully work on the streets of whatever Country they fancy with limited chance of detection. Even if deported, often they'll be back. Couldn't you come over to stay with your brother for 6 months anyway - to see if you like it enough to persevere? You never know, you might meet a nice Canadian boy.......

I recently was in NS visiting, The problem with staying 6 months without work is that with 2 children in tow, they need to be in school. If it was just me i would come just for the 6 months to see what happened. I am now waiting to hear from the college I applied to, to see if I can study as a means to get there, even if it is just for 2 years. Failing that I will have to find someone to pay to marry me, lol
