Default Collected visas today!

Yes, today is the end of a chapter that has gone on for 3.5 years and a long time coming. We both took the trip up to CHC in London and collected our passports. I pondered about what could go wrong on the way up.......could the passport photos be the wrong size? But no, 4 visas in our 4 passports. I shed a tear of relief and excitedly gushed at others in the dropping off queue....

Also there were a few others from the forum that will probably be along to comment as well. We all went to a nearby cafe for a chat and gloat over our passports and it was great to meet others in real life & hear of other peoples journeys and plans.......
Now onto arranging the 'landing' flights.

Cool! So the expiry date of 24 April 2011 is in relation to the meds? Once you land to validate the visa do they stick something different in your passport or something?

Anyway congrats!

Wayne.

Thanks Wayne,

We have to land within a year of our medicals which is 24th April and after landing we get issued PR cards and the visa is no longer relevent. Nothing else is stuck in the passport. If we didn't land then our visia just wouldn't be valid anymore....

Heartfelt congratulations to you and your family and thank you so much for sharing that photo with us. It's quite spooky really because I was going to ask what the visas in your passports looked like!

Well what an amazing day that was! I couldn't stop looking admiringly at my shiny new visa all day.

It was also very nice to meet you all for a coffee afterwards, everyone had plenty of PR anecdotes to share.

....so just one more stage to go, I'm landing at approximately 3pm on the 3rd of Feb in Toronto. I'll post a photo of my triumphant arrival on here afterwards, then I'd better get job hunting, lol.

T4T, good luck with your landing experience in the same place 24 hours later.

All the best,

Tim.

Congrats - and I love the pic! (That poor kid's feet must be frozen ...)

Don't forget - incase you don't already know - people on our timeline need different photos now for PR cards and can't use the ones we have gone through the process with. The face height is now smaller. It's worked out a tad expensive for couriers to and from Vancouver and new pics! You could ask immigration to take new ones when you land. Nice if they had mentioned it when we landed.
