Re: Claiming Canadian citizenship through grandparent
There has been very slow progress unfortunately, but here's an update...
.
.
.
- April 2020 - My mum paid the fee online and then posted her application to the High Commission of Canada in London.
- June 2020 - We were copied in on a letter from the High Commission of Canada in London that was sent to the Case Processing Centre Sydney, NS with our application.
- April 2021 - We attempted to use the online Client Application Status (CAS) tool, but no reference numbers we have seem to be recognised.
- April 2021 - We used the online contact form to ask for help. Couple of weeks later received two unhelpful responses that suggested using CAS tool and stated that they couldn't track our application without a tracking number: "we require a tracking number in order to confirm receipt and locate the application."
.
- Receipt number from payment: RXXXXXXXXX.
- Reference number from payment: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
- File reference from the letter we were copied: 20-LDN-XXXXXXX.

We've tried emailing the High Commission of Canada in London for help. They've let us know that applications are taking something like 16+ months at the moment, so we need to wait until November before chasing further. Will keep you posted!
