For those who are in process of applying for Canadian Citizenship - here is the
timeline & other details for those who are interested :

Original Nationality: Indian Profession: IT Place: Mississauga, Ontario.

July 12,2001 Applied for Canadian Citizenship July 27,2001 Received Acknowledgement &
Booklet from Sydney NS - postmarked July 19th Nov 7,2001 Received Notification to
write test - 20 objective type questions very easy - we were told before test if
successful we will hear from CIC in eight weeks otherwise a notification will be sent
for an interview with Citizenship Judge ; I finished test in less than five minutes
Jan 8,2002 Received Notification to appear for Citizenship Oath Ceremony Jan 17,2002
Attended Ceremony - got Certificate

Was Physically in Canada for exactly 1097 days before applying + 72 days not counted
[because of work related and vacation absences]

Did not use any lawyer or Immigration Consultant - I found the application very
straightforward unlike Landed Immigrant Application.

Recommendation: Refer your local library for citizenship question info and
Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.

Happy to become Canadian - Good Luck to all !

Hi Its not been 1095 days since I am in Canada but as per previous post it takes 6 to
7 months for getting the interview or something like that. So, can I apply now or
will I have to wait for another 3 months as just 90 days are left for 1095 days.

You will have to wait the necessary 1095 days BEFORE you fill out the citizenship
application. The 3 months will go by very fast. It is not that long of a wait.

You have to have the 3 years of residency at the time of your application, wait the
three months.
