hi all apologies if this is clearly explained elsewhere but I'm a little confused about citizenship eligibility
i'm a PR landed in april of 2005 but left within a few days to return to the UK
i returned with my partner to settle in canada in november of the same year.
i understand that the real date then is november when considering eligibility for citizenship. this has always been my understanding.
i've spent no time out of canada since nov 2005 and considered november to be the time to start thinking about citizenship application.
the reason for my uncertainty relates to family realities in the Uk. family illness has me considering the neccessity of going to the UK.
my concern with citizenship relates to the 3/4 rule and
has me thinking about the need to spend time in the UK before meeting eligibilty requirement
how does the 3/4 rule work?
again apologies if this is clearly outlined elsewhere.
thanks in advance

Hi
It means on the date of citizenship application you have to have 3 years physical residency in Canada in the previous 4 years.
