Hello !
So I'm wondering if anyone could advise if my mother might be eligible for citizenship by descent.
She was born in 1946 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Her mother put her up for adoption and then emigrated to New Brunswick Canada around 1953. My mother traced her family in the early 90's and unfortunately found out her mother had passed away in the late 80s.
Is it possible for her to apply for citizenship ?

If your mother was born before her mother became a Canadian citizen then no, she wouldn't be eligible for Canadian citizenship by descent.
