Everything is now showing as completed other than the oath. Who knows how long it’ll be for the oath invite.

Hello,

I haven't posted on here in a while but thought I'd come back on to post my timeline experience.

I had all sections marked as complete on May 27th, and took my Oath ceremony on Thursday September 2nd, hope thats helpful DandNHill .

Longer version of steps:
  • Became permanent resident in 2009
  • Citizenship application sent Feb 2020
  • Citizenship application filed Aug 5th 2020
  • Notified of test Feb 18th 2021
  • Sat the test on March 11th 2021
  • Everything else checked off May 27th 2021
  • Took part in the Oath Ceremony September 2nd 2021
After first coming to Canada in 2003 on a BUNAC visa, it's a been a journey!

So I just got an email saying they need every page of my passport (as colour photocopies) within 30 days to check my eligibility for time spent outside Canad or something like that (obviously I'm paraphrasing). Hopefully final straight now. Have already passed my Citizenship test. I actually flew back into Canada today (after short vacation abroad) and Canadian immigration asked if I had "applied for my PR renewal yet" (it is expiring very soon) but told him I had citizenship in-progress and also that I have applied for PR card renewal a few months ago just in case but have not yet heard back!

Got an email the other day with a test invite and request to send in scans of all passport pages (what a tedious process at the scanner). Sent those last night.

Took the test today and passed. Hardest bit was trying to take a photo of ID on a tablet but hopefully it's not blurry LOL. I'm sure they'll contact me if they're really struggling to verify where I live...

congrats! seems we're on the same path (albeit swapped order: test first + passport copies to be sent vs other way around). I need to mail my copies in to them, they say.

Was all in the same email for me. Gave me my test window and then at the bottom asked me for passport scans. So I just did that last night when I was sitting around. Test window opened today (6th) so I did it around noon.

I am getting a bit fed up with the wait. I haven't heard anything since April 2021 when I got the online tracker set up. My friend applied the same day has done citizenship test and has his ceremony in December. Me? Nothing.

Now trying to renew my PR card which I resent doing. So fed up.

Covid-19 crisis has slowed everything down. I qualified to apply this year, but decided to wait until 2023 when my 5 year anniversary in Canada arrives. No hurry, as there is no where to go abroad without a lot of hassle.

It's very frustrating, especially when some people are being processed very quickly, but you really have not been waiting that long. The pandemic has really thrown a wrench into everything. We applied in March 2020 and while the application is moving, it's very slow and have also had to apply for new PR cards (equally slow). I would readjust your expectations, the process could take much longer than you anticipated.

Finally got my citizenship test after asking for initial reschedule almost 27 months ago ?!?!
it’s online too. Does anyone know how the online tests go? Is there a virtual examiner online doing it face to face ?!
