Ours was 13 months - but we informed them we were out of the country for a few weeks mid-way through the process so I think they probably put it on hold or pushed it to the back of the queue and that slowed it down. Got there in the end though

In case anyone comes across this in the future : I called CIC and they confirmed the fingerprints had been received, everything was approved - and that I was going to be sent a date for the citizenship test "soon".

Well, still no news on my application - I just checked and it still says "Processing"
They started processing on December 4th - they received my application in September and opened it on November 21st.
No request for fingerprints, but apparently this is usually only for people with common names, or names that are similar to persons "Of Interest"

My Timeline:
- We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 23, 2018.
- We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on November 6, 2018. (I never received an e mail for this, nothing in my spam mail either)
- We started processing your application on November 20, 2018.
- We sent you correspondence on November 26, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required. (Finger Prints, lucky me, received letter for finger prints on 30th Nov)
- December 6th, 2018, Finger Prints taken and submitted to RCMP. Supposedly takes RCMP up to 72 hrs to review and forward finger prints to IRCC Vancouver
- Citizenship test on March 6th, 2019
- We sent you a notice on March 11, 2019 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on April 11, 2019.
Now to wait 3 business days before applying for my passport …… Woop!

April 16th received my notice to appear for my citizenship test via email

We still haven't heard anything - no request for fingerprints (my name is pretty rare) so i'm hoping to hear about a date soon - before my blood pressure gets any higher LOL

- April 16th, 2019: Received notice to appear for citizenship test on May 2nd
- May 2nd, 2019: Sat citizenship test
- May 3rd, 2019: Citizenship ceremony and DONE
