It’s frustrating I know, but if you already know for sure it was delivered then I think you just have to hang in there until they get to it.
thanks. My problem is not certain it has been delivered but Canada post says it has even though no signature is obtained. BTW cic replied to say no trace of my application but officer dealing with application prior to 7 Aug so far. so will hang on for 1 more month then try again and hope for the best.

congratulation to those whom passed their test

Have you tried checking the application status online?
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...ck-status.html

Average processing time (which is 12 month for Citizenship applications) are just that unfortunately - average. Some take a shorter time, others much longer; sometimes it depends on the time of year you apply and how busy they are! Whilst it's normal to want to compare your timeline to others, unfortunately it doesn't really help as every application is different.

If you can't find a signature for delivery, have you asked Canada Post why there isn't one and asked them for proof that the item was delivered - or may just ask them to check to see if it's still in the system somewhere?

it will show on the online status check - but don't panic if it doesn't yet - it may be there but not yet opened!

thanks Siouxie. Concern is not the fact processing may take longer but rather whether my application is delivered or not? Canada post say possibly delivered and no signature because scanner was broken on the day But want me to confirm that with receiver i.e. cic, which is impossible. Anyhow I shall wait bit longer before contacting cic.

Scanner broken? I wonder...
Our applications were sent November 2017 using the Canadian equivalent of recorded delivery that required a signature.
Canada post tracking indicated that the package was delivered but signature applied was there none.
Perhaps the scanner has been broken for the past year.. or perhaps it's something that they just don't do but somehow simply can't admit to.

For those of you who got citizenship approved - curious how long did it take for your status to show decision made after passing the citizenship test?

We had to submit further documents to prove duration of one UK trip - she said to take it as no news was good news, but don’t want to be sitting in limbo for months wondering if they have what they need or if it is just sitting in someone’s inbox gathering dust.

We didn't take the test as we were too old but it took one calendar month precisely following the interview for the 'Decision Made' status to appear.
The term 'decision made' is unnerving in that it can be interpreted to suggest that the 'decision made' may be to reject the application.
One has to wonder why, if 'decision made' means that citizenship has been approved or otherwise they don't say so and simply publish 'citizenship approved' or 'citizenship rejected'.
I'm cynically led to the conclusion that such behaviour is characteristic of a civil service mentality that refuses to divulge any information that could conceivably be described as being useful to anyone who might profit from, or simply be interested in, it.

I’m cynically led to agree
Thanks for the info - I know it’s different for everyone but others experiences are always appreciated as a guideline

Sometimes it changes the next day to Decision Made and sometimes a few weeks later ... it depends on if anything else needs to be checked. You were asked for additional information, so it's taking a little longer.

Been a while since I last posted here having been through IEC, PR, and now citizenship route over the last 7 years. (The rules for citizenship changed literally right when I would have been eligible!)

Here's my timeline thus far...

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 24, 2018.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on November 10, 2018.

Is there a link to a spreadsheet with other people's timelines available?

Thanks

BritBC is an unknown quantity at this point

How long does it take generally after you receive 'Decision Made' to schedule you for your citizenship ceremony?
