I applied for citizenship the day after a good friend of mine and he ended up receiving AOR and then asked to take his test almost immediately and I have not heard anything back. My current processing times are:
Sent Application - March 8th
AOR - April 13th
Still waiting for further info. Anyone else in a similar situation or is this pretty normal?

Passed my test with 100% very happy, but I was sent away to get passport stamps from a trip to Egypt in 2010 translated. These were in an old expired passport. Oh well, will try and sort tomorrow... then I have approx a 4 month wait for my ceremony apparently!

I got PR in 2015, this passport expired in 2016. I think they just need to check that the holiday was outside of the period of time in which I qualified for citizenship. Bit of a pain, but I understand that they need to check. Hopefully getting it translated officially on Wednesday, then I’ll send it off registered, xpress post.

it doesn’t sound like it’s too much of issue seeing as you got to take your test. I have a stamp from Turkey from 2014 - just before I came to Canada so it’s good for me to be prepared for this if it comes up.

Frustrated- So the CIC website processing estimate was 5 months when I applied in January, now its gone up to 12months! Its a bit annoying really, I dont understand why citizenship takes so much longer than PR card renewal. I mean its basically the same application and requirements anyway as PR renewal. Given that it cost like 700 bucks or something you might expect them to be a bit quicker.

It appears to be a sad fact of life that the rate of progress for any individual application obeys few rules if any.
Our timeline is to date:
Application sent Nov 2017
Application Received January 3, 2018
Application acknowledged February 8, 2018. (Booklet not received)
In Process April 3, 2018.
Fingerprints requested May 30, 2018
Invitation to Appear sent August 28, 2018 to appear on September 12, 2018
Given that the delay from test to oath is about 2 months then the 12 months quoted period has bveen stretched to the full for us.

Had our interviews yesterday.
A couple of points that might aid others.
1. We had calls within 24 hrs of the interviews from the IRCC officer that she wanted copies of itineries of our travels within the qualifying period. We fell short but probably good enough so if your interview is on the horizon then start digging. It appears that copies of e tickets describing the routes taken would suffice. If you get a call like this, it pays to discuss requirements because we didn't and found ourselves wondering what precisely they wanted.
2. We had egyptian visa stamps in our passports. Others have been asked to have these translated. What they are looking for are arrival and departure dates. Fortunately we had timestamped photographs of our visit and in our case we explained that we had these and would they be enough. We loaded these onto my cellphone and presented them to the officer. In our case, the dates fell outside the qualifying period and these photos were accepted as evidence without the need to translate. I suspect that had they fallen within the qualifying period then they would still have needed to be translated.
3. The only documents inspected were PR card, Drivers Licence, Passports old and new, evidence of visa stamp dates and travel itineries/tickets. We conclude that they wanted to (a) confirm that we were who we said we were and (b) confirm that our period for qualification had not been falsified.
There were some other inconsequential questions, no doubt designed to test how genuine we were.
All in all, a very business like approach that my wife did not enjo, a little like a job interview she said..A parting quote suggested that if all was ok then we could expect the ceremony in a further 3 months.
ps... If you're visiting the Surrey BC office beware. Parking is at a premium. It is on the ground floor of the Coast Capital building next door to the skytrain station but they have demolished the car park that existed to service the station and appear to be in the process of digging another larger one but for the time being it was an unwelcome surprise and we were relieved that we arrived early.

1. That’s fine if you fly or had travel booked but what if like me it’s just popping over the border around once a month in the summer to partners family cabin. I def don’t have proof of that except i94 entry and exits and hopefully CBSA’s exits and entries.
2. So it was a visa. I have a Turkish stamp in my passport (within eligibility period but before I came to Canada on IEC). Mine shows the dates though so I’m guessing it could be 50/50 for translation. How much is it to get stamps translated?
EDIT: I'm bored at work so I checked my email history and have all my flight e-tickets/boarding passes of countries I visited during the eligibility period. I wont be able to prove the weekend trips to Washington so hopefully me agreeing for them to contact CBSA for exits and entries may suffice.
I have my Turkish paper visa that is has English in it as well as my boarding passes for the trip so all of this should match up with the 2 stamps in my passport

Get a quote from Mosaic they are in Vancouver and are a not for profit agency. They do it for people's IRCC applications all the time and know what will be accepted. You can get a quote online.

https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/homeFor example: I went to the US on 3rd August for a day trip - this is shown as an entry but the exit states 4th August despite the fact I returned to Canada the same day.
I requested CBSA entry and exits online a week ago so I could double check before I send the application but I know it can take up to 30 days for a privacy/information request to come through
