Default Citizenship application - different processing times in different Provinces ?

It appears that Vancouver and BC in general have a somewhat long application processing time, of b/w 8-14 months (end to end for the entire process).

I've heard that application processing in Toronto, ON (except the Missisauga area) is pretty fast, 3-4 months total time from time of mailing application. I am basing this on direct input from 2 friends who had their citizenships awarded to them by mid-2007.

Do others on this forum agree with this that different provinces have different processing times for their application ? And if so, which provinces currently have faster processing times ?

Curious to know if there is some place where you can look this information up ? (e.g. in the US, in the past the USCIS used to publish approx processing times for each state, by state/region)

Thanks in advance!

Its more localised than a provincial level. Within Ontario for example when I applied a few years ago for mine some offices were taking about 4 months, others were taking over 18. Im not sure you have much choice over where your application is assigned anyway, its based on where you live and dumb luck I suspect.

I finally sent off my Citizenship application on October 19th haven't heard anything yet (no surprise there) I'd be so pleased if the whole process only took a few months I was expecting to wait at least a year.

Sorry not really adding anything helpful here, just having a boring day

.. thanks iaink for the prompt response

Seems its not easy to figure out the delays/ processing times at each local office. Are there any websites that give you estimates at least ?

Found something

This site has approx times for processing in different provinces. Note that its a group of folks who input their data here, so there could be minor errors, and everything may not be statistically accurate. However, it is a great starting point

It makes sense to me that those Provinces that are getting the most Immigration arrivals, will also get the most citizenship applications , as well.

One would also expect they should also have more resources to process applications.
