Citizenship
Is Citizenship locked in at the time they receive the application? Do you have to remain in the country until you receive it? We applied last April and I think in September received receipt of application. I’m thinking of relocating home in time for the school year next September? Would that jeopardize the process if we haven’t received it at that point?

Hi
1. You can leave Canada, but you must maintain your PR Residency Obligation up to the point of the Immigration Oath. Presently you can take the test overseas (don't know how long that will last) but you have to be in Canada to take the oath either in person or online.

And also note that you don’t have choice of dates for oath ceremony and they don’t give much notice of the date - we had about 10 days. Not a very flexible system unfortunately.
