cic timescale
Firstly apologies if this isn't the correct procedure but we only registered today (out of desperation for info). Anyway according to the cic website applications thru London are currently taking an average of 13 months to process. Well 13 months is 22 days from now and we are not even showing as "in progress" anybody else experiencing the same pain. Thanks.

The first thing to do when asking for help in these forums, is provide as much info as possible, then the nice people here can help you faster.

Re: cic timescale
13 months was the quoted time for FSW PR in the AOR from the London office (which for us would mean August this year - see timescale below). However, we have had no feedback from them since the AOR, so I think it's going to take longer, and plenty of people are unfortunately in the same boat. It certainly seems that around April last year London processing slowed down a lot, and it is now unclear how long delays will be and in what order applications are being processed.
Have a look at the various threads like "AOR from London March/April 2010" (and similar for May, June etc.) in the immigration forum, this will give you an idea of how far through the process people on similar timescales are, and also various theories on why things have slowed down.

Hi pfw, AOR? I notice for you a date of 15/8/2010, now if correct in thinking AOR is the letter from London that states they have received your full application pack and issue you with a new immigration file number (different from the one issued by Nova Scottia) then our AOR is 6/5/2010, 3 months before you, yet you are showing in process from March 2011 yet we are still getting the "your application could not be found at this time message????"

Re: cic timescale
Yep, that's the letter. Our was actually dated July (took a month to get here as we are already in Canada) so we are probably a couple of months behind you.
The "in process" bit means that our status has changed on the E-cas online tracking system - https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en However, it's notoriously unreliable. I believe that some people have gone through the whole process without ever appearing on the system. However, it may be you are entering the details wrong - select your identification type as "immigration file number" and enter the immigration file number from the AOR letter and also select your country of birth as "England".
The only thing that really means anything as far as I can tell is some further communication from London, which would hopefully be medical requests. I'm not aware of anyone on a May AOR timeline yet receiving medical requests, but I could be wrong - I'd do a trawl of the immigration forum to check. I don't think you are necessarily that far behind anyone else with a similar AOR date.

Re: cic timescale
Thanks mate, we have been using England and on occasion, in desperation, United Kingdom but still no joy. It's encouraging that fellow applicants from May 2010 have not yet been sent for medicals and we are not being overlooked but so frustrating especially with 3 different processes in operation at the moment, who knows what list they are choosing candidates from eh.

Re: cic timescale
Appreciate that but they applied using a system that stated a 3 to 4 year process. We applied as skilled workers after meeting with a Canadian government official who assured us the whole process from start to finish would be 18 months tops. Well that was 20 months ago, just saying (and waiting) I feel for the people who applied in 2007 especially when they see people on here celebrating having received visas already.

Just spend the extra time saving and preparing, but don't stop living your current life and planning a 'what if it doesn't happen/work' strategy.

There is no logic at all to the processing at London and actually, since June 2010 changes, Buffalo are as bad.
Now if you have applied and New Delhi is your VO, or Manila, you would already have your Visa.
(Several cases start to finish in under 8 months for post June 26th Cat 1 cases from those offices.)

Have you tried clearing your browsers cache or using a different browser to access ECAS? You may have old info automatically being input when you try to login!
Kind regards, Mac.

Cheers Mac, we have tried numerous system cleans, google chrome and internet explorer (saving firefox for a rainy day) but all with negative results. It's all a bit My thinking was the same as your's in that they are trying to keep the timescales for the new applicants (post June 2010) in line with cic guidelines while letting the rest of us rot.
