Default CIC Express Entry Appilcation Fee's - with partner

Hi guys

Trying to take a look at CIC's fee's on Express Entry prior to subitting, but can only get so far along in the process without actually doing it...

If I apply with my partner on the application, do I have to pay the same fee twice (i.e. same for both people)???

We were thinking of adding both our profiles, with each other included as spouse on one another's application, to double our chances.

If the spouse has to pay the same as the principal applicant then it's going to be 4 x the price and pretty damned expensive.

Is the spouse really charged at the same price as principal applicant??

Yes, the spouse is charged the same as the principal applicant (both $550, plus the $490 RPRF so $2080 in total), but you don't pay that until you get an ITA. It's free to just enter the pool.

Yes. So you enter the pool, for free (well, apart from the cost of getting your IELTS, ECA etc), and then you sit there until CIC decide you've got enough points and give you an ITA. Only at that point do you actually apply for PR and therefore pay the fees for both of you.

So unless you both get an ITA in the same draw (possible!), you'll only have to pay one set of fees, as you can remove the other profile as soon as you get the first ITA. If you don't want to risk having to pay two lots of fees, then just one of you apply, whoever scores the most.

HTH.
