CIC Citizenship timelines

Re: CIC Citizenship timelines
Yey. Test all done (20/20). Now the wait for a ceremony invite.
Thanks Photoplex for the time info. We actually completed everything in 1 1/2 hours, I think we only had a small group.
As a side note, my English language standard was accepted with my O level and CSE certs from school. I was a bit concerned whether this would be sufficient, as they seem to prefer degree level.

Re: CIC Citizenship timelines
Wife and I had our interview on 6th Nov in Nanaimo. Being over 55, no test and the interview was as described above, took about 5 minutes. We were given a choice of ceremonies, Vancouver 1st Dec or wait until their (CIC) next visit to Nanaimo in April/May 2015. We chose to go to Vancover.
From application, 19th Dec 2013 to Interview, less than 11 months. Not what we were expecting!

Applied Dec 2013, received book April 2014, heard nothing since. Hopefully, we won't have too much longer to wait!

CIC Citizenship timelines - Military Fast-Track
My application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) was received by CiC on August 14, 2014 and I received notice on November 17, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on November 27, 2014. I'm under the new fast-track system for members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The test went fine and they told me to expect to attend a ceremony before christmas.

CONGRATS SPACEACE! Glad to see that Halifax CIC is moving fast on somethings.
It is now December! It has been 6 months since I sat my Citizenship test in Halifax with no invite for the ceremony to date. This brings the processing time for my application to 4 years, over the maxiumum processing time. Once again I've had to set my MP on to CIC. Hoping to get some good news within the next few days. Will keep you posted.

Thanks Roxy....it's got us in a panic, but we'll be fine.
I can't believe what a nightmare time you're having with CIC....very frustrating for sure.
Hoping for some good news for you soon!

Re: CIC Citizenship timelines
So I just heard from my MP.... My file has been transfered from CIC Halifax to CIC Montreal on November 26 for a ‘special review.’ Something to do with background checks. They advised her to check in again in March 2015. This will bring me to 4 years and 4 months. Looks like I am contact the Minister of Immigration directly. This has gotten completely out of hand. I am seriously thinking about cancelling this all together.

That is a GREAT question, Magnumpi! My background, in terms of criminal or political, is as plain as the manila envelope that our everyday bills arrive in. Sure.. I have done some positive note worthy things as a youth in my community but I have no criminal record, am not a part of a drug cartel/syndicate, gun runner and I have paid my taxes. I don't get it? The plot thickens!
