Congratulations! Which citizenship office?

Thanks. I was down in Calgary. They had two days of doing Central Alberta citizenships, which is why the test and ceremony were on the same day.

Seems to have speeded up out here in NS ... We applied second week in June this year and will be completing the test next week in Halifax. It should mean a 6 month processing total from application to ceremony

Our friends took the test in June were offered a ceremony in July which they couldn't attend and were then offered a ceremony in August which they did
PS there was a citizenship ceremony in Halifax in the last couple of days as part of Citizenship Week ...... we saw it on tv

Ceremony completed at the Vancouver office. I'm in!

Interestingly, and contrary to what the website says, they said wait three days before applying for a passport. I strongly suspect this is a short way of saying "two days after today", but never mind, I'll just wait until Friday morning to go to the passport office.

Citizenship Test completed in Halifax this morning...6 persons in total in the test room........ very basic questions compared with the online tests I looked at..... you would have to try really hard not to pass it.... was told by the interviewer that it was likely that a ceremony would be held either next month or December. The Interviewer was very pleasant and very thorough.......... checked every stamp in my passports against my declared absences from Canada and wanted to see every original piece of documentation (which had been photocopied for the application)

There was a nice Danish Lady at the offices who had been a PR of Canada for decades but was applying for her Citizenship of Canada for the first time...... since this summer the Danish Government now allow Dual Citizenship

Hi we submitted our citizenship app in June 23rd 2014, CIC received it June 26th 2014. On Sept 19, 2014 email received to acknowledge receipt and provide study guide.... test date to follow. Not sure of time frame from this point onwards. We are hoping to fly back to UK in mid Dec for a week. We are holding off booking our tickets just in case we get called to sit the test. Could anyone give an indication of from when you receive letter to start studying to sitting the test. And what sort of period of notice do CIC give, a week / two / more?
Thanks

Minxymel - can't help you much on your request but looks like we are just ahead of you - we submitted our documentation on 12 June and got emails back on 10 September. Will update when we get anything else!

thermophile is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: CIC Citizenship timelines

The cic website says 24 months for routine applications but it seems that people here are seen only about half that? I'm also seeing reference to different offices but it looks like all applications get sent to NS, do they get rerouted after that? I'm in Vancouver, any recent times for them?
