Re: Checking on PR Card
Due to the impacts of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we
- can’t process applications normally
- can’t provide accurate processing times

Re: Checking on PR Card
Question /
when I originally sent my application, it said processing time was 66 days, after 66 days it shows 97 days
I can't find my application in the processing link
is it now 97 days ? because surly it will keep changing every week or what ever? If that makes sense
should it still not be 66 days when I sent it ?
txs again all

Is there a reason for any urgency to receive your PR card - i.e. are you planning a trip? If you have travel arrangements made for within the next 3 months, you could request urgent processing - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...ce/urgent.html
When you are checking the status, do ensure that you put down your country of birth (i.e. England / Wales / Ireland / Scotland etc.,) and not a generic UK / Britain, as it won't find the application unless you do.
Hang in there!

Unfortunately, it is what it is, patience is needed. PR cards aren't something that are generally urgently required so RCIC are putting their resources into processing applications for family unification, travel consent, work permits, permanent residency applications etc., rather than PR card renewals.

We understand it's a long process and the need for patience, but initially having an estimated date has teased our expectations! Is there nowhere to find any estimates or updates then?

Ah, maybe this is where I have been getting mixed up. We applied for PR, but I have found no way to check up other than 'PR card', so I assumed this was the same thing.

Which program did you apply for PR under? You may be able to check (i.e. if you did apply under CEC then you can see the exact date they're processing them on), but only certain PR apps are being processed at the moment, so it will depend on how you applied.

Re: Checking on PR Card
A PR card is just proof of PR status, what people use to come in and out of Canada etc (and what you'll get once PR has actually been granted).
Which program did you apply for PR under? You may be able to check (i.e. if you did apply under CEC then you can see the exact date they're processing them on), but only certain PR apps are being processed at the moment, so it will depend on how you applied.

Ah! PR applications can be checked online.. either on eCAS or MyCIC Remember the bit about 'country' of birth - not generic UK. If you need any help signing in our wiki has some info (it's the same for all types of applicants, ignore the 'spousal'): https://britishexpats.com/wiki/Spous...All_About_eCAS and https://britishexpats.com/wiki/Spous...ll_about_MyCIC

Re: Checking on PR Card
Ah, ok, in which case likely to be quite a while longer, FSW apps aren't being prioritised so there's a backlog. Even CEC apps which have been prioritised are behind the usual processing time of 6 months - currently apps that were submitted in early October are being finalised, so nearly 10 months processing time for them.

Re: Checking on PR Card
hey guy's the ball park figure for the processing time was 66 then 99 and now 116 days, I still can't find my application status, I'm assuming the 116 days is from when they get it,
the error comes back as the usual one, I don't even mind if it's processing, but they must be able to tell you, YES we received it now just wait. All I have is the UPS confirmation that
they received and signed for it. PITA and really kinda crappy, I've tried all various configurations receipt number, PR card number,
does it matter on case of name, i.e all caps, first only etc Jaaaa or JAAAAA and the R number is it case sensitive, have tried both, also tried England and British Citizen.
on my application I never put English I always put UK
dammit

Are you checking on eCAS or MyCIC? Suggest you read over our wiki sections on using them (ignore that it's for 'spousal sponsorship - the process is the same regardless)

I know it has reached thanks to mail tracking.
I'm genunely considering sending in another renewal application just in case! Am not sure. I reached out to Immigration team via email with my details and they say "no record of your renewal application" or something to that effect. hmm

They don't normally respond unless the processing time has passed.. if not, where did you send the email to?
If they haven't opened the application they won't have any record for it yet, but you might be able to access your 'account' on eCAS and see any previous application.
Hopefully your citizenship application will be completed so you don't have to worry about the PR card being processed but if it's urgent you receive the PR card you could always request urgent processing.

Do you mean you sent a case specific enquiry? https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-r...e-cas-eng.aspx

They said they have checked but still cannot see this as in-progress yet, which they say could very wel be the case (i.e. docs delivered but they haven't started processing yet) hmm
I have tried all the usual eCAS login / sites etc - but no info about my PR (just my Citizenship application).

Re: Checking on PR Card
so back again,
wait time now shows 128 days so pushed from 6th sept to 19th, package confirmed delivered friday 5/14/21
if my UCI is 1234-5678 do I use a dash or not (I trie both)
with my recipt number if it was R123456789 do I use the R, and capitol or lower
name, if last name is Adrian, do I use Adrian or adrian
what happens if I resubmit another one ? how do I know if it's not lost, it's not "overdue" mind you the processing time keeps changing

Inputting the querie for your application status is usually case sensitive. You must always use the country of birth because the UK / British Isles / Great Britain aren't a country. Try using your UCI - unique client identifier - the same one that you had when you applied for PR. You can find it on your PR card / COPR and on any correspondence from them - you will have written the number on the application form.
