Hi all, new to the forum and thankful for its info. Just curious, when applying as a sponsor do I have to declare my Canadian Citizen children as dependents? I am hoping to be accepted as a viable sponsor for my British husband , he has two British children for his previous marriage... I understand I have to declare them as unaccompanying but we have two children who are Canadians and I am confused if I have to include them as well on my application forms?

The Canadian children are to be listed on the Additional Family Information form only.

Excellent news & very well done. Warmest congratulations! Your history gives me hope that my own might not be too far behind yours in their pile (AINP Nov.2012; CIO Jan.2013; UK Police Feb.2013; Medical Mar.2013; RPRF Jun.2013).

My Status has been decision made since May 9th, 6 weeks later we are still waiting to get COPR. Fees were paid 8th May so getting extremely nervous as thought the fact that fees were requested meant we were almost there. Have stopped checking mailbox every day as too dissapointed when not there. Hopefully we all hear something soon.

...we paid our fee on April 2nd and were still waiting! Its still showing as "in process" I really think it depends who you get, some update the system & some don't! We were still showing "application received" for weeks after we paid the fee....there doesn't seem to be any system

Thanks everyone. I think it does depend who is processing your file because have RPRF request at different times. Our request for the final fee was just before the strike. Fingers crossed that everyone hears sometime soon; 6 weeks is a nail-biter to hear!

Hi
I am new to the forum but wondered if you could offer some advice. We were just asked for the final fee but when I log on and check our status it still says 'application received'. Do you think I am any closer to this concluding or do I have to go through weeks/months of 'in process' before a decision will be made? We sent our application in August 2012. Any advice would be great, it's driving me crazy!

If you were asked for the fee then send it. ECas is often well out of date so that "...Received" means nothing

Thanks for the advice. I did make the payment as soon as I got the request and I hope you're right about ECas being well out of date! Fingers crossed it wont be too much longer, waiting with such little information is no fun.

Good luck to everyone else.

Few days ago I received my renewed work permit , should I have to email a copy of the permit to CIC, an email from CIC I received only asked to contact them for following reasons --

When should I contact CIC?

You must notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) of any changes to your application. Examples of changes include:

• Changes in your personal circumstances, such as birth or adoption of a child, death of a family member, a marriage or a divorce;

• Change of contact information (e-mail, mailing address, telephone number);

• Appointment or change of immigration representative or designated individual;

• Decision to withdraw your application.

No (unless they specifically ask you to) - if they want to check that they can just look you up on the computer. CIC did after all issue your TWP.

This may seem a bit odd to ask , but I do not know how to fill out the sponsorship application form properly, neither does my husband the applicant because of the section requiring statement of children dependents... he has a child that he has no contact with, does not even know her location, nor her birth details etc due to unfortunate circumstances. He has never known her, however he does pay child support for her. Does she classify as a dependent and do we include her in the forms? Or should we get a statutory declaration from a lawyer explaining the situation? My husband knows that he can not sponsor her in the future due to lack of medical, but that is ok as he does not even know her and would not be doing so anyway. Thank you for any advice that can be given.
