As much as we are happy for yourselves, but we,ve been doing all this since Jan 2010,and living and working here in Canada since Mar 2009,and all these people are flying past alot of us,so patience getting a little thin.

Anyway congratulations another one finished

That's quite funny because myself and my family have a very similar time line to you and yes I agree ,when you see people on this forum getting pr before you and given they applied after you it does get quite annoying

Okay- I have a question if anyone can answer me I'd really appreciate it. We have a "decision made" status on our online ecas thing. However, the decision was made about 4 days ago, and we've not had anything in the mail. My husbands medical runs out on August 4th, and we are sat here wondering what the hell we should do? How do we find out whats going on?
We have booked another medical for monday, but like, is that really necessary? We have tried emailing them, but they have not responded.
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks in Advance.

Hi if you have decision made on the online cic website, then you should be receiving soon either passports required(hopefully)or application denied(not good)or interview required, they are the 3 statements of Decision Made.
Concerning your medicals, there are lots of people who are over the 6months mark on medical validation,so would suggest keeping quiet about that and do nothing until asked, save your money you will need that when you get out here.Hope this helps and good luck,it seems you are very near the end

Ours was a little different they requested extra documents and passports on 24 Feb 2012 . Then on 23 Apr 2012 a Decision made as seen on the ECAS. We then received our COPR on18 May 2012. Finally landed 27 May 2012.
Not sure if that helps you any with time scales. Ours was also via Seattle.

Hi

We have had a medical requests - yeeeeeeessssss!!

We applied to Nova Scotia in January and hear in February we were under Pilot scheme.

One query though. My husband has a son from a previous marriage who's 20. My husband signed the declaration saying we wouldn't sponsor him if he came over and also sent a letter explaining he had no interest in moving here. He is actually doing his basic training for the army at the moment. Yet we have still been asked to get medicals done for him. He never had police checks done. I was just wondering if the knowledgeable people on here would know why we have to do this. If something should happen to his mother he still wouldn't come over.

Thanks

This link quotes the following
Medical requirements

You and your family members, whether accompanying you or not, must undergo and pass a medical examination in order to come to Canada. To pass the medical examination you or your family members must not have a condition that:
•is a danger to public health or safety
•would cause excessive demand on health or social services in Canada.

Examples of “excessive demand” include ongoing hospitalization or institutional care for a physical or mental illness.

Also in that link is all the info re police certificates etc etc.

Really fed up now.

It's been over 15 months since my application was received by Buffalo, so I called my MP's office two weeks ago to look into what's going on.

They get back to me today and confirm my file is in Ottawa, medicals are all ok (as I know from my CAIPS notes), they are starting background checks (15 months later - what did they do with it in Buffalo?!), and my application is yet to go to 'selection' (this is a new term for me, but apparently it's where they say yes or no). My MP's office tells me to contact them in three months if I've not heard anything, to chase things up before my meds expire in November.

Aaaaaarrrggghh!!!!!!!!!!

So unfair that people that applied later than us are flying through the Ottawa system.

I don,t know if this will help but we are in exactly the same situation as your selves, our time lines are nearly exactly the same.
Also contacted local mp,and was told the same, all meds are ok,no further information required and backgroungd checks have been started,so what have buffalo been doing with our files,it really annoys me how all these people are flying past us and alot don,t even live here in Canada yet,we are supposed to be on the pnp programms which are supposed to be fast tracked so annoying, but keep at it,we are still pushing local federal mp to help resolve this.
GOOD LUCK

What does IN PROCESS mean on Ecas? Everything is fine and all checks have been completed and just need one final review from the Visa Officer?

Thanks, same to you too. Whereabouts are you?

I told my MP's assistant that I expect him to raise the issue at a higher level, but judging by her response, I'm not holding my breath.

I think it means they've taken it off a dusty pile and looked at it briefly. That's what ours says and has done since before they confirmed they had everything... We've also since then had our medicals. So basically it doesn't mean anything much!
