Hi there, I would like to go to Canada to work as a caregiver. Don't know what route to take, do I go to Canada and do the 7 month caregiver course and hopefully as course finishes I can apply for a job there.
Or do I enrol on this caregiver agency I know and find work through them and hopefully get a job that way.
What's the best route, I also have three children to consider as they will be coming with them, and I don't want to be coming back and forth to UK whilst sorting out visas
Thank for ur help

Have your read the instructions & requirements of the program?
Determine your eligibility – Live-in caregivers
You do not need to take the course in Canada, nor do you need to apply through an agency.
IME, it's unusual for a caregiver to come with his/her children to start with.

The real challenge is getting an employer to go through an LMIA for a caregiver in the first place Determine your eligibility—Hire a live-in caregiver Although implies just the caregiver education part would qualify although I would have thought any employer is not going to spend the effort for an LMIA or the extra costs without a record of experience. Plus I do not see any mention of dependants on CIC site being covered under this program, maybe they only come into equation after the 2 year qualifying period when a care giver can apply for PR ? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/ca...t_resident.asp I guess if the care giver program were that easy a lot of people would be trying that route to PR.

Tbh, if you have children then you can pretty much forget that visa route. No employer is going to hire you with dependents that need housing etc - most caregivers are single people who have either not got a family, or they've left a family behind (like many who work in Canada and just send money home).
Dependent children are allowed to accompany under the LICP, but it's not terribly practical to expect an employer to house a family IMO.
