Default Card details for application

Dear all,

Sent our application off in May and went down the 'pay by card' route. Last week i had to cancel my card because it was lost (or stolen). The new one arrived and the last 4 digits are different which means that CIC won't be able to take payment.

Is it best to send a money order and write to them with the new details ?

Thanks

They will contact you - usually by e-mail - telling you that they are unable to take the payment from your card and could you please send alternative payment within a certain amount of time.

If it's NS CIO, they'll most likely return your app, and if it's RPRF for your visa office, they may not return your app but ask for it later. So if you want to avoid delay, send a money order right now.

They don't return your application - they e-mail you to tell you they cannot take the payment and ask you to send in a new form of payment.

Anyway, why wait for them to ask for it later? Do it now if you want to avoid delay.

There is a slight possibility that CIO may not be able to match up your draft to your application - but if you do want to send a new payment now, make sure you give as much information about yourself so that can match them up - full name, date of birth etc etc.
