Cancer and Canadian Visa's

Hi Guys Im 25, Australian and about to have my medical for a working holiday visa in Canada. I had a brain tumour when I was 19 and had it totally removed surgically and then had radiotherapy afterwards. I have been having MRI's every 6 months for checkups and have had no problems since and I lead completely normal life, have completed a university degree and now work in that field. I was even supposed to start having 12 monthly MRI's a few years ago but since I can get the MRI's bulk billed and dont have to pay for them my oncologist and I figured why not. It will be 6 years since my treatment this March 2013

I know im not British but I have asked this question on another australian forum and received no replies in 2 weeks.

Any ideas or previous experiences with cancer survivors getting visas would be hugely appreciated!!

Cheers

i cant offer advice but british people dont need a medical for a working holiday visa - is it because you are going to be working with children or a hospital? or do Australians all need medicals for a WHV?

There is no medical required for an IEC working holiday visa (Australia) unless you are going to be working with children, teaching or working in the medical services industry.

According to what I have been reading on their website you shouldnt need a medical unless you are working in health or with children (which I am not) but also at their discretion for previous medical conditions. So i sent in the application and received an email stating they had received my application and then a few days later an email for a medical to be done.

Cheers
