Question canadian police information checks?

ive tried looking in the search but carnt seem to find what i am looking for. Can anyone help?, My OH has secured a nursing position at a Kingston Hospital. In order for him to be fully registered with the CNO he has to have a police check. They have sent this email

Thank you for your e-mail. As soon as you receive your work permit, you should fax or send (copy) it to us, as it has to be reviewed by the Registration Committee. Once it is reviewed and everything is fine, you will receive an R1 form which is the Initial Registration form. It will have to be returned with an original CPIC (Canadian Police Information Check) that is not older than six months. It would probably be easier to obtain one once you are in Canada. However, you could contact a Canadian Consulate or Embassy to see if possible to have it done through the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police). We do not require the vulnerable sector one with fingerprints.

Once we receive your initial registration form with your CPIC and payment ($171.73), it will take up to 15 business days for you to have your Registration Number. You can give that number to your employer who can confirm your registration with us until you receive your Initial Registration Package.

If you have any further questions, please contact us either by e-mail at [email protected], by phone at (416)928-0900, 1-800-387-5526(toll-free in Ontario) or visit our office at 101 Davenport Road.

i have looked on the CMP website and they only offer the finger printed police check!, and it takes 120 days. would our british police check be ok? and what is the point in getting a Canadian one done as we havent lived there to get any sort of record anyway! Will my husband have to wait 3 months from when he lands on his TWP befor he can start work and be registered?? PLEASE HELP, slowly loosing hair!!

A name and date of birth CPIC check should be available directly from the local police force in your residence city in Canada. It would take only a few days at most. In Saanich on Vancouver Island they charged C$50 for one. Also, new computerized finger printing services have reduced processing for the print version to a few days.
