Default Canadian Police Cert

Hello all,

My application under EE has just been cancelled as I didn't upload my medical certificate despite having uploaded proof that my medical was within 1 week (I actually have it tomorrow! How frustrating). Anyway, I've resubmitted my EE profile and I'm back in the pool. Fingers crossed I'll be back on track soon.

The only other thing I didn't have was my Canadian police certificate. I've read conflicting views on this but thought I'd double check as I don't want to be in the same position again...

I took out 2 IEC visas to work in BC from 2011/12 and 2013/14. Do I need a police certificate from within Canada for this time? If so, how do I go about doing it from the UK? I've read about going to the police and getting inked and then submitting that. It all sounds fairly tedious.

I've also read that I will be instructed if I need one. Being as this is a similar situation to my medical, I don't want to be caught short again!

Any help would be appreciated.

THANKS

You don't need a Canadian police check, CIC do their own check. The only time you'll need one is if CIC request it, perhaps because you share some details with somebody dodgy.

Such a shame your application was cancelled, hope you get another ITA quickly. Are you scoring high enough to be selected again very soon? It's just that if not then it might be worth cancelling your medical, as it's only valid for a year.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the quick response. At least that will save me some cash. Nothing dodgy I know about. My score is 482. I know its been a low few round over Christmas, so fingers crossed they don't rank it up for the next one.

I think at 482 you'll probably get selected fairly soon. It might not be in the next round, but shouldn't take too long.

Best of luck.

Thank you so much. I keep telling myself it's a delay not a rejection
