Canadian Passport

Re: Canadian Passport
Seems so yes. On each case they've either asked about the stamp or have skimmed through her passport and then made a phone call to a supervisor who has either walked over or offered advice via the phone.

Interesting. I always check my Australian partner and I in online. So far haven't had any issues; just head straight to security.

Re: Canadian Passport
Unfortunately most airlines in the UK that we've used insist on putting you the full ridiculous check in process even if you've already printed boarding passes online and just need to drop off luggage.

Re: Canadian Passport
They do. My girlfriend currently lives in the UK with me on a Japanese passport and UK permanent resident status and everytime we leave these days the check-in staff go through her passport page by page looking for the tourist stamp and then ask why she doesn't have one. The obvious reason is because she gets the resident stamp and, like Canada, the UK doesn't use passport counterfoils for non-visa nationalities. They always have to call their 'supervisor' to check though.
All told it's a gigantic pain in the arse and it would probably just be easier for everyone if they reintroduced a proper exit check system.

Re: Canadian Passport
We always only take carry-ons so that's probably why we don't have the same problem.

Re: Canadian Passport
Take a look at the Registered Traveller service. Depending on which airport you use it can save a lot of time.

Re: Canadian Passport
2-3 times a year is pretty good. I know people who have been overseas less than that in their lifetime!
