Default CANADIAN IMMIGRATION QUESTION

I entered the U.S legally with my parents at the age of 6.At 17 due to a drug addiction I was arrested and deported.Since I have no family ties in Mexico, I kept returning. However,it was difficult to stay out of trouble due to my long standing drug addiction. In short my life became a vicious cycle.During the intervals I did manage to finish my education and had a wonderful son who is now a police officer.Meanwhile all my family became U.S. citizens. In 2005 I was again deported for illegal re-entry and now have been in Mexico for 6 years.I somehow managed to start a new life here, clean, open a small business ,have become a law abiding tax paying citizen and have a wonderful wife and daughter.I have heard from my family that Canada is a beautiful country and that the people are great there. Will Canada give a person deported from the states for an aggravated felony an opportunity to live there?

You may want to take a read through this first http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=647159
and this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/f...issibility.asp

That is one hurdle. The other is finding an immigration category to get into Canada.
I suggest taking a look through here as well http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Quick_...an_Immigration

Hi, and welcome to BE

It's nice to hear you've turn your life around. I can't directly answer your question, but the term felony suggests serious criminality and if I am correct, you won't be eligible to apply until 10 years after the sentence has been completed.

It's all here for you to investigate....

Your circumstances are complex, I would seriously employ a good immigration lawyer before considering the expense of applying for immigration.

Good luck
