Dear Experts

Please advise me how I go about getting some advice I need with regard to
immigration to Canada.

My wife, a Canadian, has sponsored me to immigrate and I have received my
visa, the problem that we have is that my visa is only valid until 7th April
2004. Obviously there is no way we can sell our house, give up our jobs and
go in the timescale we have left.

I understand that I may go to Canada to validate my visa, from that moment
onward I must spend at least 2 years of the next 5 in Canada. Does this
mean I may go there for a short holiday and then come back to England to
finish my business here, before returning to Canada permanently?

Is there a maximum time limit I must not exceed when being out of Canada,
for instance may I go to Canada to validate and then return to England for
say 1 year??? And then return to Canada permanently?

Does any of this make sense??

Yes.
