CIC have announced the following:

Expiration of the Transitional Provisions of the Citizenship Act of 1977
Were you born outside of Canada to a Canadian parent between January 1, 1947 and February 14, 1977?
You should know that the transitional provisions of the Citizenship Act, which allow persons born to a Canadian parent outside Canada between January 1, 1947 and February 14, 1977 to become Canadian citizens, will expire on August 14, 2004.
These provisions refer to sections 4(3) (delayed registration of birth abroad) and 5 (2)b) (facilitated grant) of the Act.
Applications under these provisions will no longer be accepted after August 14, 2004.
