Default Canada ETA Declined - Help Needed

My 80+ year old grandparents are booked to visit from the UK at the end of October. They have had their ETA applications come back requiring medicals. When they try to arrange this they are told that they are not needed for a 2 week vacation, but only in emigrating. They had to link their eta applications to the CAD immigration website but when trying to get further info there the site keeps crashing. Has anyone else experienced this?? Any advice??

Are you parents coming for more than 6 months or on a parents supervisa? Those seem to be the only circumstances where a medical might be needed. (At least from a cursory search).

Were your parents required to declare any health conditions on their ETA applications? I was just wondering if the request for medicals is related to medical inadmissibility rules, which according to this government link apply to everyone seeking to enter Canada, including visitors.

I really hope they are able to visit, you all must be looking forward to it so much.

When you say 'they had to link their ETA applications to the CAD immigration website', what do you mean? Did they definitely use the official website for the ETA application? It should be one and the same. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...anada/eta.html

There are questions on the ETA app asking about serious medical conditions and contact with anybody with TB, did they say yes to either of those question?
