can the work experience NOC be different from the NOC in application?

ok here is the situation, a friend of mine got a job offer (approved) for a job with an NOC number, his work experience is under a different NOC, (related though) and his education and training definitely qualifies him to work in both jobs, so would it be possible to apply under a particular NOC but provide the required experience under a different NOC? is there any reference about this particular point in the guides/manuals?
Thank you,

Thank you,

Are you talking about applying for PR as a skilled worker. have you been on CIC website. It explains all about this. Try there and if you are still unsure then I will try and answer your questions

Thank you for your reply, of course it's about skilled worker and I can't seem to find an answer in cic website all it says is that you need a one year experience but does not mention that this job has to be the same as the one you intend to do in Canada though it seems logical

I'm confused, if he's got a job offer, why is he applying with a different NOC code from the one for the job offer?

He's got a job offer approved by HRSDC, so should just put the same NOC code as his job offer down on his application.

Hope that helps. :)

He's putting the same noc as in the job offer . But his work experiance (required too) is under a different noc

I don't think it matters. Most people have work experience under different NOC's over time.

HRSDC have approved his LMO or AEO, so they obviously think he has suitable experience for the job, and therefore hopefully it shouldn't be a problem.

:)

I can now confirm it does not matter as long as the Noc code for previous job is in skill classification O,A or B. We had same circumstances and just received notification to send full application to visa office.

Thanx a million, that would be a big relief for him and yes his previous job is under classification A and the Job offer is already verified
