Default Can tourist visa study a short-term course in Canada without telling the embassy ?

Hi, my girlfriend has already got a tourist visa of Canada (Multiple Entry V-1) already by telling the embassy that she will come to travel with me who got PR. So, the embassy gave her for 6 months. (She didn't tell the embassy to take short-term study which is less than 6 months)

1. Is it OK if we apply for a short-term course and tell the immigration when we arrive Canada that we will stay around 2-3 months for traveling and looking for a university (because she plan to move to study here) and also may take a short-term English course (We have letter of acceptance for 12 weeks part-time study). So, we have the full length we want ?

Or we should not tell the immigration about short-term studying. And, we say only traveling and looking for a university which take around 1 month. If we don't tell, they will give us 6 months stamp to stay. Or they may give us only 1 month ?

This also effects on my ticket date that I need to book on what I will say.

2. Usually, Canada Immigration stamps for 6 months in standard of tourist visa ?

Thanks a lot for every comment.

I can't comment on the specifics of your case, but pulling the wool over the eyes of the embassy is usually a very, *very* bad idea. Even if you get into Canada, if the university is a halfway-decent institution, they'll run checks to make sure you're in the country legally and that you're allowed to study. If you're not, then chances are you'll be in serious trouble with CIC, and possibly not allowed in the country ever again. Short answer: tell the embassy *everything*. It'll be a hassle, but not as much hassle if you don't.

I'd be amazed if anyone on here condoned you not telling the embassy the whole truth and nothing but.

I am not an immigration expert, but I found this info for you.

"If you intend to enrol in a Canadian school or educational facility for more than six months, you must obtain a Study Permit. If you wish to study in Canada for less than six months, no Study Permit is required, but you will still need a Temporary Resident Visa."

Only thing you need to make sure is that her visa is considered Temporary Resident Visa, which I have no idea.

Hi there

Not sure if this will help. I have recently been speaking to the York Regional education authority. My situation is slightly different to yours, but here goes.
My wife and I have been granted PR for Canada. When we did our initial PR application, we included my two sons from a previous marriage as unaccompanying ( they did the medicals etc ) I plan on arriving in Toronto in July with my sons and wife following. According to the eductaion guys, my two sons can come in on visitors visa's and then apply to attend school whilst their sponsorship is going through, I have to provide proof of sponsorship, work etc.
It may be worth speaking to the local education authority about this if it helps. For interests sake, has anyone on here used this approach before or heard of it before ?
