Default Can simplified SW application be upgraded to full later?

If one was to apply under the simplified skilled worker to London now, then get a work permit, could this be upgraded to a full application by sending in the required details?

What benefit would this offer over just applying from scratch with full application when over and working in Canada?

thx

Hi Commander

The Simplified Application for SW PR visa if merely a way of registering your intention to apply for immigration to Canada - getting your place in the queue.

Any SW PR application can be upgraded with the offer of Perm employment once you have commenced work under your WP.

If you apply for SW PR visa and sit and wait you are looking at at least 5 years until CHC start to look at the application and request supporting evidence for your application so all in all it could be nearer to 5.5 or 6 years from the date on your AOR.

Accepting a job offer and going through the LMO and WP route could take as little as 3 month - but does depend on which province the job is in.

Now you decide which one is better for you.

There is also the Provincial Nominee Programme too - do a google search for PNP and you should find a tonne of stuff

Thanks Gaynor,

If you knew you were going to get a work permit shortly, would you put in a simplified application now? Or would you wait and just submit a full application down the road?

We have our WP and we just decided that we were going to wait until we were all in Canada before we submitted out PR application.

I think it is personally up to you yourself what ever you really want to do.

SAP - you wait for them to request the supporting evidence .

Full App with Arranged Employment you send everything off.

Hi Will,

What Gaynor (also part-time ship's counsellor) said.

Get the LMO and make it so.
