Default Can I live in Canada while waiting for a PR to be issued?

I have decided I definitely want to move to Canada, but being stuck in the UK waiting for a Residence Card is of no benefit.

If I'm not planning on working as an employee of a Canadian company, how long can I stay? I was recently issued 6 months at the Canadian border but could I extend this if I wanted to stay longer?

Thanks

Paul

You can apply for an extension through Vegreville. No guarantee if it will
be issued or for how long.
