Default Can I apply apply for PR and also work on TWP??

Hello all,

I see lot of information regarding immigration here and was very useful to me.

I need to know following

Can i apply for PR and can work on TWP in canada. What if i apply for PR and then i come to canada on TWP. Does coming to canada on TWP affect my PR processing ??? Is this possible??

Is there any list of skills in demand for priority processing?? I heard that there is some proposal being discussed. Can somebody throw light on this issue?? Any links/leads would be useful.

Any help would be great.

regards
CD

There are a few Kamloopians that use BE. Best of luck with your plans, and drop me a line if there are any questions you have about living here

We'll be moving to Kamloops without having ever visited the place! The first thing to organise is acc for my small family of 3. Which are the better neighbourhoods to live in?

First thing to note is that rental accom. is really hard to come by, particularly for a family home.

The best choice of location is largely going to be dictated to by your budget, the desire for being in town, suburbs or rural.

Pleasant neighbourhoods include Juniper, Batchelor, Dallas, Westsyde, Aberdeen and Sahali. They're all within 10-15mins drive of down town.

Add an additional 5 minutes drive and you can choose between Barnhartvale (more rural feel with many home on small acreages), Rayleigh, or Campbell Creek/Deloro

Search MLS (http://www.mls.ca/map.aspx?AreaID=1065) for those areas for something to suit your budget.

Brocklehurst and N.Kamloops are the 2 areas with a poorer reputation, but there are areas within them that are fine.

If you want to contact a realtor for assistance, I'd recommend Lisa Whitman (250-319-1563).

Applying for PR then getting a TWP and being in Canada won't speed up your application. However, you could apply for a TWP and come to Canada then apply for a Fast Track Permanent Residence (if your job qualifies as skilled worker). This is what we are doing (thanks to advice from Judy in Calgary on BE).

Some provinces (including Alberta) have a provincial nominee program where if your company will sponsor you, you can apply for speeded up PR. Again, I believe there are conditions attached to your job title.

I think some provinces have lists of skills in demand, I know Alberta has. Check out provincial government websites.

Have a look on Wiki (use link on BE) for more info. I know that wading through the official websites can be confusing. Have a good look at the CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp then ask questions on here... that's what we did and there are some real mines of information on BE!

A lot can depend on your job title so make sure you find out exactly what you will be hired as, then check it on the National Occupation Classification matrix. http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/docs...er_English.pdf

Good luck! It is a long and sometimes confusing process but be glad you have found this website!

By the way, Fast Track PR isn't an official government program...
