Default CAIPS File Queries - Experts please.

In the file, there's a page indicating Assessment Record Summary.

1) What does PRIORITY 7 means?
2) And PS DECISION: 1 18-11-2003 KAC?
3) All other DECISION are 0.

In most of the pages, FILE BF'D TO: KAC ON 14-07-2004 were indicated. But in two different pages, BF FILE TO: KAC ON 11-11-2005 were stated. Any significance?

Appreciate any advises and/or suggestions.

Thanks!

Seems that you applied quite recently and obtaining CAIPS file at this stage was a waste of money. Don't even try to interpret anything as all is irrelevant until officer makes at least initial assessment. Relax and wait - patience is the virtue here.

Thanks for the immediate response Mr. Miller. When you said 'until officer makes at least initial assessment.', there's actually a section that includes the following:

AGE : 10
ETF/SVP: 17
BONUS: 5
etc...

and TOTAL is 69.

Although we were expecting the TOTAL to be 74, 69 should be enough as of the moment since passing is 67. We might want to question the 67 thou, but we are not sure how.

Btw, what does ETF/SVP stands for?

Thanks!

It is not initial assessment, it is just automatic entry when file is created. Plus the section you are talking about is for the cases filed before Dec 31 2001 (under old law) and ETF/SVP are the points for occupation that were part of old law's selection criteria, but are not existing under current law. Again - it was an automatic entry, nothing to do with any assessment and completely irrelevant.

When and where did you file your application?

Hmmm... that's strange. We actually filed our appl'n last Aug 2002 here in Singapore... And we thought that the new law should encompass us also...

Does this mean CAIPS are not regularly updated or worse not that reliable?

Appreciate your advise on this.

Thanks!

No, it doesn't mean that at all.

But CAIPS is not something what is being "updated" at any regular intervals - entries are being made only when there is activity on the file.

And your post just proves one most important thing - that providing a fraction of information taken out of the context of entire file is simply worthless.

And it also shows how dangerous is trying to decipher CAPPS file by someone who has no idea about it.

No offence intended here, but if you want someone to tell you what is going on (if anything) then you should forward the entire file for assessment.

If you filed in August 2002 then you are subject to new law. But CAIPS still has old law's entries as it is the same system for old and new law's cases.

Points taken Mr. Miller. Thanks a lot for your inputs... Was just wonderin' if it's possible to send you the file (via email) so you could enlighten us a bit more.

Best regards.
