Hi Paul,

I have been receiving AOL's (America On Line software) for the last several years.
Buffalo has nothing to do with. Make sure they sent you the AOR as well, otherwise
you might want to give them a call.

Here is my timeline:

June 14: Buffalo received my application June 21: They cashed my check September
10: They sent me AOR October: Received yet another AOL (that's what trash bags are
for) January: Received PIN number

(to be continued)

I think you will have to wait several months before getting the initial assessment.
That's plenty of time to enjoy those 1000 hours of web surfing offered by AOL.

Hi, Vlad,

Where did you apply from - US, Canada or somewhere else? Your timeline looks
really good.

I am asking because I have couple of friends who applied in January 2001, got their
interview waivers and passed medicals in July but still have not got visas (they
applied from Canada, where they are on working visa). We are also in the same
situation as our friends but applied later (in June) and have not got anything after
AOR yet

Best regards, Anna

Hi Anna,

I applied from US, and the quickness of it may probably be explained by the fact that
I used legal services of David Cohen. His staff did a great job. I had turned to
several other Canadian lawyers in the past (I won't tell their names), but all of
them turned me down, saying that I had wrong qualifications... David agreed to take
my case immediately, and here I am packing my baggage to go to Canada

My timeline is as follows:

August 7, 2001......application sent to Buffalo August 8, 2001......application
received in Buffalo October 26,2001.....Got AOR stating that it will take 28 more
weeks for assessment December 12, 2001...Received PIN

Should I send my fingerprints to receive FBI clearance so that they are ready by the
time they ask for it.

Hi Anna,

This PIN thing is a new phenomena. It didn't exist when your friends applied in
March. It is just an additional number that you will need to mention to the Buffalo
guys (on top of your file number) if you want to get information about the status of
your application. I only got it last week. I guess you will get yours soon.

Hi,

Yes, it will be good to have your FBI clearance as well as your home country and
other countries of residence clearances ready by the time you receive your interview
waiver. I think you are given 3 months to complete medicals and to send the remaining
documents to the consulate after you receive the waiver. I am not so sure what
happens when the interview is required. I got my FBI clerance only after I received
the waiver - but FBI sent it to me and my wife very quickly. That was before
September 11, though.

My time line:

Early Nov, 2000 - Application Submitted Early Nov, 2000 - Check Cashed by Buffalo
Late Jan, 2001 - AOL Received Late March, 2001 - Interview Waived Early April, 2001
- My medical, my wife's medical without x-ray Early July, 2001 - My daughter came
to this world Early August, 2001 - Sent my daughter's application fee and birth
cert and passport copy, etc. to Buffalo Late August, 2001 - Received the Medical
Form for my daughter and my wife was asked to complete the X-ray Late August, 2001
- My daughter's medical exam and my wife's X-ray completed Late Nov, 2001 - Buffalo
asked me to submit the work experience form stating my work experience from Jan.
2001 to now (because I quitted my previous job in Jan. 2001, but I did submit my
job change notice to them in March 2001, seems they just ignored the notice that I
have sent) Late Nov, 2001 - Sent the current work experience statement Late Dec,
2001 - Called the Call Center, answer was "The documents you submitted is not in
the computer system yet, they might be in the file folders, and may be processed
within next 1-2 months"

Now, still waiting ( and my medical will expire in April this year.... )

It usually takes 20 to 30 weeks to get a notice for your interview or interview
waiver/medicals. That is about 5 to 7 months from the date you recieved your AOR ...

I've passed medical test for my newborn child at 12/25/01. What about that kind of
tests - does it take same time as for adult or less ? There is no x-ray, blood, etc -
technically processing should faster but how about real life? What is possible
timeline (Buffalo) for my landing now ? I believe, I have interview waiver and
background check is over. Thanks in advance,

Mike
