Thanks for the update. Good stuff. It definitely seem that they are now moving faster although it might be just how they update the web page.

The last update was on September 12 (about 20 days ago) when they moved to May 2002 as the assessment month. Hope that they keep up

I don't think they are really moving this fast, they are just updating
the web page. We have not seen much May 2002 applicants getting their
initial assessment. I myself am May 2002 applicant waiting for
assessment.

There are still many March and April 2002 applicants that didn't receive
their assessments also.

Yes, as Mr. Andrew said many Feb/March/April 2002 didn't receive their initial assessments.

For instance my file was transferred to Buffalo in Feb 2002 and got refusal letetr (initial assessment) in Jun 2003. Since, my case was to be assessed as per transition law (with 70 marks as against 75 then) in view of the original date of application, I requested them to reconsider my case. It appears that they have considered my request, and are reviewing my case. Accordingly, my status has changed from "decision made" to "in process" in E-client after one month from my request.

Apart from that, I have reently received a letetr (I have sent a copy of my request for reconsideartion to Minister's office as well) from honourable Minister's office saying that "our records indicate that the visa officials at Buffalo are reviweing your application for PR and you should hear soon from them" .

I happy to know that they are looking into my file, but at the same time I am fed up with the long wait to get a written ommunication from them. Many people here say "patience is the key" , but how long? Even if the problem lies with CIC authorities, applicants have to suffer. Live example for this is me...

It's not strange. The closer the application date is to the June 28th
or after that date, the less applications there are. So the processing
time moves fast and will be faster. But it will probably stop at the
September or October 2003 again.
