I sent mine to Buffalo on the 16th Oct for Visa Stamping and waiting
anxiously for them to return it with the stamp.

I really dont know how long they would take but i feel that they
should move Really Fast on the Passports.

Hope we all get ours ASAP.

Ciao !!

its taking about 4 weeks from the time they get it, to you getting it back by mail... bear in mind they send the passport back by regular mail, so tack on a few days for that....

I sent my parents' passport to buffalo on Oct 6, they received on Oct.
7, but so far haven't received it back. Please let me know if anyone
sent on Oct. has got the passport back.

Why are you all panicking?

Buffalo sends back passports within 10 to 15 business days - week has only 5 of
those. More - October 14th was Canadian Thanksgiving day, so please subtract
this day as well. Then add few more days for mail to get to you. If Buffalo
received your passport on October 7th then start counting from next day - 15
business days will pass October 29th. Add to it at least 2 days for mail and
you'll have October 31st. And today is only October 25th...

Note that what they estimate is just that - estimation only and it may take few
more or less days anyway...

Send them to buffalo by express mail: 10/08
It was recieved by them : 10/09
We recieved the passports back: 10/24

so it took exactly two weeks from the day they recieved them...

I don't think I'd say I was panicking. (I sent my passport off to
Buffalo on Thursday from Waterloo, Ont.) It's more that it's creepy
sending one's passport in the mail (esp. knowing that it will return
through regular mail), and having the letter not say when it'll
return.

It's also an enormous annoyance, given that I live in Canada, and was
planning to go on vacation to New Orleans next month, but now can't
plan the trip since I don't know when next I'll be able to get back
into Canada. (Looks like we're going to Montreal instead, which will
be fun, but much colder!)

A simple guideline, in the requesting letter, for how long it will
take would help a lot, as would a human being on the other end of the
phone to deal with the eventuality that one can't send it in less than
a month because of one's schedule. (The letter from the Consul says
that if you dont send it to them in a month, they may decide that
you're being too slow and dump you.)

I sent my passport on Oct. 1st via express mail. Received by consulate in Oct. 2nd. Still waiting.................... I am begining to worry since other people send their passports after Oct. 7th and got them back in two weeks. Whats going on at Buffalo? Don't they process passports in the order they received? I guess I will wait a couple more weeks.

Congratulations for those who got their passports back with a visa stamp.

Hope Mr. Miller is right that it is taking 10 - 20 bussiness days.
