Default British plumber wanting to live and work in Alberta Canada

Hi guys

I'm new to this site. so be gentle with me ha ha

My husband is a level 3 plumbing and heating engineer, commercial and domestic with Gas Safe Certificate.

We are seeking advise from Brasalot immigration consultants in Canada and we have a meeting Q&A session in a couple of weeks in Manchester...it cost us £30 lol any way .... We are very confused as to how to apply? If to use an agent or complete the application ourselves and how to apply ... Work visa ...FSTP etc.

We would love to hear from ANYONE who has successfully gone through the whole process from start to finish. Basically from filling in your first application to actually settling in Canada and working as a Plumber etc .

The immigration consultants told us it's all very straight forward.. And the process takes 12 months now !

As you can imagine ... We feel a little bit like ... It's too good to be true .. Kind of a thing.

My husband is considering flying to Albert - Calgary in 2-3 months , he hopes to land in the airport.. Have his British passport stamped with a 6-12 month work visa... Study and sit RedSeal exam... Find a job / work contract as a plumber and come back to the UK pack all our things up and fly back as a family a set up somewhere to live ...schools etc ! Can this be done !!! ????

Confused . Com

HELP US PLEASE he is driving me bonkers lol

First, have a search on this site for Brazolot... and then make your own choices based on what you find.

Second, have a read of the wiki, it's linked at the top of the page and has lots of info about newcomers to CAnada, the different visa routes, and what they all entail.

12 months might be optimistic unless you can get a TWP and LMO, but be aware that yoru husband may have to pass some Canadian exams before he can work.

Anyways, have a read of the wiki... and search on here for Brazolot. You'll find you'll get better advice once you've done some of the groundwork and research yourself.

Hi, and welcome to BE.

I'd strongly suggest you search the forum and Google Brazolot to see what's been said about them in the past!

It sounds like you have a fairly good grasp of things (apart from the 6-12 month work visa, which doesn't exist - and you need a job offer to get a work permit, not the other way around). If you have a good read of the Wiki and CIC website then it should answer all of your questions with regards to visas. Certainly no need to use an immigration consultant unless you have complicated circumstances.

There are numerous plumbers on the forum who have done it on their own, as well as lots of other trades, so hopefully you'll find their advice is useful.

Best of luck.

Once you've had a good read about Temp Work Permits and the Federal Skilled Trade Program, if you've got questions then shout and somebody will always try and help.

Always a bonus . The pilot gets brownie points every time he makes it to the right one Points knocked off if you miss or scratch the paint.

Dropping it on the button and the pax not feeling the wheels hit the ground, that's showing off!

Landing on a carrier deck and missing the boat is bad form.

I would really, really like to reiterate that you seriously research Bazolot.

If you are interested in Alberta have you researched the Alberta Immigration Nomination Programme (ANIP)

Not the first time it has happened. One wonders how though.

Even the USAF get it wrong sometimes!
