and the official one (CIC news is not an official website for CIC, it's an Immi Consultants website)
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...alassent0.html
The changes for length of time in Canada etc., don't come into effect until later this year.

Re: Bill C-6 has passed
This is the best news I've had in a long time! It bumps up my citizenship application date from 2019 to this year!

It is fantastic news, it means we can become citizens three years earlier than we expected according to CIC's citizenship wizard

Re: Bill C-6 has passed
Thanks Stinkypup
Applicants must be physically present in Canada for three out of five years before applying for citizenship.
Do you think that this means that someone can apply after 3 years, if they have been in Canada the whole time, or do they still have to wait for 5 years before applying?

Re: Bill C-6 has passed
Still I assume only an immigration consultants wizard (CICNEWS ?)though and their interpretation of C6 not the official CIC physical presence calculator which is the only one that counts ?

Re: Bill C-6 has passed
I am not sure that it is going to be hugely different to the current CIC one...just with the necessary adjustments as per C6 detailed above
