Question BG checking

Buffalo applicant, interview waived.
When the background checking starts?
Does it start right after the IA or they are waiting to recieve the additional docs (FBI report, W2, bank statements, etc.) and the medical exam report?
Thanks.

Background/security check is initiated after positive selection decision was made, providing that there is sufficient info to start it. FBI certificate, W-2, bank statements, medicals, etc. have nothing to do with security check.

Question Re: BG checking

Mr. Miller thanks.
From what I read background/security check in most cases defines the final timeframe and if there were some delays in getting FBI certificate or medicals, these delays shouldn't make significant changes in the final timeframe.
Am I right?
Thanks again.

It is not that simple, but in general terms, under standard circumstances, yes.
