Default Best job/ qualifications to emmigrate with

Hi I've recently been thinking about moving to Canada with my OH and our two year old twins, not planning on going any time soon as to be honest I only have a (useless) diploma in public services and my other half is a granite and corian worktop fitter. We're both in our twenties. Next year I'm looking at going back to college for either alevels or an access course, probably to then go onto study nursing or odp at uni. Tbh I'm in a limbo and I don't really know what I want to do, I want to do everything, but I don't want to limit my options as I've been reading about some peoples degrees or qualifications not counting over in Canada so at the same time I don't want to waste my time for 4 years over here to have to redo it all again over there. I have been reading NOC and PNP going round in circles I think. Thanks for your time, kas

Have a read of the wiki, which is linked at the blue bar at the top. There are a load of ways to get different work permits.

Check out the list of occupations that have previously been in-demand, and look at what occupations would class you as a skilled worker.

Also look at the IEC program, as your age qualifies you for that visa, which is a one-year working visa, and is the easiest one to get ,and you can renew it for a second year (you each can). The program should be opening any day now and last year the visas were gone within 20 minutes so you'll need to be on the ball about it if you want in for this year...

But my suggestions would be to understand the various work streams and then inform yourself from there.

Nursing will not meet provincial requirements mostly due to how the training is structured. Canada is general trained where as UK is specialist trained. Have a good read in the Canada section as nursing has been discussed a few times

Not till at least January. They have just changed the format page as well so each country doesn't have their own page anymore where you can check for individual updates. (Sigh!!)

No dates confirmed yet

I can see that causing chaos!

Here is the new link (which doesn't appear to be working properly yet).

You were allowed to bring children on an IEC. Where did you read you couldn't?

I would strongly advise that you do not train as a nurse with the intention of bringing it over here.... There must be a different way in which you can enter but really nursing isn't worth the headache. Now if you wanted to go to Australia and doing a degree in Nursing in the UK then maybe....

I followed the link and it says one of the requirements of working holiday is to " not be accompanied by dependents" which itself is a link to another page titled "can my spouse and children come with me to Canada" "yes" .
